More than financial assistance
A community that stands beside families
The Air Force Families Welfare Association, formerly known as AFWWA, supports the Air Force family community. Alongside welfare assistance, its work includes vocational training, opportunities for spouses and dependants, and activities that encourage confidence and independence. [1]
Start with the situation your family is facing. Then check the particular scheme’s conditions: a general connection with the Air Force should not be treated as confirmation that every grant applies.

Confidence grows through participation
Welfare also means belonging
At the January 2025 Bagdogra camp, 60 children took part in an AFFWA-supported programme of adventure and teamwork. Activities included climbing-related challenges, archery and other supervised outdoor experiences.
Such events show another side of family welfare: opportunities to learn, make friends and try something new. Ask your local welfare office about programmes suitable for your family.
Turn information into a practical next step
Prepare before you apply
Confirm the scheme
Describe your circumstances to the local AFFWA or unit welfare office. Ask for the current policy, form, eligibility conditions and submission deadline.
Build one clear file
Use the office’s document list. Check that names, dates and service particulars agree across the records, and retain copies of everything submitted.
Keep a traceable record
Request an acknowledgement or reference number. Note the receiving office, date and follow-up contact so you can ask about progress accurately.
Your preparation checklist
Suggested preparation—not a substitute for the scheme’s official document list. Tick items as you organise them; ticks are not submitted or saved.
Keep sensitive documents in your application file. This information page does not collect them.

Common questions
Why do different websites show different amounts?
First compare the publication dates and scheme names. Ask AFFWA for the rate applicable to your circumstances and the relevant revision order. The figures on this page are explicitly identified as 2025 reference figures.
Can I submit a grant application on this page?
No. This is an independent information guide from Apna Legal Saathi. Use the application route confirmed by the responsible welfare organisation.
What if I do not have a required document?
Ask the receiving office which replacement or alternative evidence it will accept. Avoid guessing, and keep any written clarification with your application.
How should I follow up on an unanswered application?
Use a short written request containing the scheme name, submission date and acknowledgement number. Ask whether any document is pending and which office currently holds the application.
